Rooftop Astronomy: January 2015

The Big Bang

A few years ago, I brought my classic "orange tube" C-8 telescope to the school where I teach in the Bronx, set it up on the roof and invited my students and colleagues to observe the sun and moon. And so, the "Rooftop Observatory" was born. Since that first time, I have brought the telescope back for daytime observation and we successfully held our first evening "star party."
